Tracker 3?

I bought a metal detector off craigslist the other day for, get this $20 obo (I generously paid the full $20). I only bought it because the picture showed bounty hunter and I figured there was no way I could lose. Anyhow after I got it I looked it over and it is a bounty hunter tracker III I also have a tracker 4 and a pioneer 505. I have seen a lot about the TR4 and TR2 but what about this "missing link" I can't find much information on it but I am assuming it is an older model, since it has First Texas as the manufacturer and a teknetics coil, the machine is very good my son used it a bit yesterday and it seemed to hit deep targets an simple airtest showed about a foot, is this possibly a machine from the "George Era"? Maybe Dave could fill me in on its history. In a web search all I found on it was a Manual.

Anyhow another BH added to my collection

Yup, it's got a pedigree, alright, and has George Payne's direct control or influence in its design. I don't have much Tracker 3-specific info, but do have a pdf on my website that should be worth a read. Author Mickey Cochran was a well-known tester of old for BH and did some excellent reviews and writeups. The pdf covers al the various Tracker models and is a definitive guide to the series.
