I found a toy pistol while detecting yesterday. but only letters I can make are last four and two numbers. "NNER 50" Any ideas?

Hey Guvr, will the be a drop down for quick links to other forums?

Am pretty sure it was called a "Fanner 50", by looking at the hammer and as I remember seeing those in the mid 1950's. I don't recall what the 50 would have meant though. Nice old find. Some old man had a lot of fun when he was a boy. wmike

I forgot and just remembered. When you bought caps,,,,,they were usually in a roll or what you might call a 5 pack. The caps were perferated so that you could break off a small roll and then line it up inside the capgun. Walla!!! 50 shots to the small roll and 250 for a new box of cowboy and Indian ammo. By holding the trigger and "fanning" with the other hand you would get 50 shots. A very nice cap gun in its time. Wish my son would have shot as many Indians and badguys that I did. Fun times. THANK GOD I WAS ABLE TO GET A CHANCE TO BUY THEM BEFORE the times we live in now. Also most toy cap guns back then had a hero's name on it like Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Rex Allen, Hopalong Cassidy, Those stars made more money from their toy sales than they made making movies. wmike
