Town Square Pt 2 I'll be back :starwars:

Prodigy

New member
Went back to the old town square and decided to dig all signals just to see how many coins I could dig. Within 2.5 hours, I had 101 coins, most of which were clad but there were a few keepers. The deepest being the 1856 O seated that was coming up at 12-40, 12-41 at 7", with all others no deeper than 3" from all the construction over the last several years (added playground, shelter house, sidewalks removed, not natural looking mounds). This is my oldest US silver coin and 3rd oldest coin ever and to be found in a public park really says a lot about the CTX in my opinion. The scratch was not of my doing....thank god.

Congrats on the greatfinds! How old is the town square?

With the condition of that sweet seated, I'd say quite old...

Lets hear what you say Prodigy... Outstanding digs...

I know the town is supposidly 1840s or so because it was founded on a small religion that is very remote. I would have never guessed anything like that would be left in a public square though.

Sweet seated dime! Congrats!

I'm jealous would really like to snag a half dime that's a good one that v nickel looks like it well clean up good . sube

That is what it looks like. I didnt think that it did, but I will look more closely when I get home. If it is, it is not very clearly defined like with a wheat penny and I would have assumed they would be very obvious since the mint marks on Indians are larger.
