Tough old park :rage:

Yes the goofy looking kid with his hand in a hole is me

WOW this was a tough park to hunt.. First problem, It's so dang hot out! Second problem, It's so freaking big you don't know where to start! Third problem, I have ever hunted a park before with so many nails.. They were EVERYWHERE.. While hunting in manual sensitivity I dont think I ever heard the threshold hum.. I have hunted the old park with the E-trac and didn't have much luck until I turned it over to two tone ferrous.. Then I was able to find a Indian, a rosy, and a couple wheat's with the big E... Next time I go back I am going to strap the x-8 coil on the E-trac and hunt in two tone some more..

The pic where you see me, was the very first signal I got.. I was jumpy and fluty and awesome! I took a friend with me and she thought it would be fun to take a pic of me messing around in the hole.. As soon as I opened it up and dug down a bit, I was able to pull a wheaty out.. I put the probe back in and right from where the wheaty came from was a nice big nail..

I tried to stay put in one area instead of wondering around the whole park.. Doing so I was able to pull a few goodies today.. I found an old shirt pin, a few early wheats, a good looking Indian, and a cool little token..

None of the targets were extremely deep, which was nice for a change. Just the ground was so littered with nails it made it a little tough.. I definitely know there are more goodies hiding out in the iron..
It was a fun little hunt, wish there would have been silver involved, but like I have always said, I am happy just to find anything lol
Thanks for looking everyone..

oh and my hunting partner today wouldn't let me snap a pic of her. She let me know pretty quick she didn't have make up on so there was no way in H$@@ I was sharing a pic of her HAHHA

as I do!! Right knee down, left knee up. Only difference is I wear protective gloves, and I have a rubber ground mat to place my dirt on.

If you're interested, here is where I get my gloves... The fingers and palm of the glove is coated with a gray polyurethane. Very lightweight, breathable, and protective. And inexpensive!! They still provide that tactile feel between your fingers for reaching in the hole and grabbing/feeling for the metal item.

Not too bad for an iron infested site!! I'd like the challenge that park provides!

PS - Your pic is the first one I've seen of the new Sunray probe...Gosh!!! They look so small now!! :(

Thanks captn.. I'll look into the gloves.. I usually have some.. I just can't stand to wear them in the heat...

Thanks Eddie.. I hope you are doing well sir! I didn't mention it I just noticed. I was using my se on this outing.. I was going to go back over the area with the big e and the x-8 next time.. Take care buddie!!

Nice hunt - That Frigidaire token is nice. I'm trying to figure out what the "5 BTUs" is supposed to mean. Could you turn it in and get 5 free BTUs added to your refrigerator ? In the old park I hunt, I consider it a good hunt if I get a pre-1940 wheat, and you got several and an indian. Congrats.

Thanks Montana! and thanks Doug... You ever find out what the BTUs means?? lol appreciate all the comments!
