Tough Hunt Before the Cold

Got out today for what may be the last hunt for a while. Supposed to snow Thursday. Went to a park in a town that was created in 1854. Specifically today I wanted to listen for the deep iffy signals that hit two ways. I have hunted this park in the past and all the good stuff is 7" or deeper. Managed two old wheats (1911 and 1930) and one 1939 Merc. None of the signals were great. After this hunt I took our dog for a walk at a school and found evidence of where someone broke open a metal box with a rock. They were looking for cash because they left 10 clay chips from vegas hotels that were from 2000 and a one ounce pure silver commemerative coin from the Stardust Hotel in Vegas. Will check with police on these items. Sitting at 86 silver on year.

nice hunt, Bob. I've got to the point where I only dig stuff which is at least 5 inches deep, unless it's a quarter. Helps me cover more ground in limited time. I might miss some good stuff, but it's a trade-off.

86 silver is a great year. Nice hunt.

Sounds like a great hunt, Bob. Congrats on all the silver this year...and maybe you can squeak out a few more before the snow comes.

Keep us posted as to what the police say.

Police have no record of car getting broken into missing these items. Guess they are mine. Think I will drop the one ounce silver into a red kettle.
