with a vaquero is there anyway that one can operate with the standard coil in tots lots and around concrete re inforced with steel?i'm running in all metal ,with the threshhold turned right off ,at 6 sense and can not get closer 12 inches ,before the screaming starts. i feel must be missing targets. a smaller coil at this stage is not an option.maybe someone can help. other than that ,i find it bloody fantastic , blowfly l.and s. wtg:detecting:

Hi there,
Can you disc out the steel on the tot lots, not sure if you can ???. But i disced out the steel in the floor of my Bedroom, not sure the size of steel used at the tot lots, you could try it with the Sens at 1, you would still get good depth, good luck,

Dave Holey Dollar.

I wouldn't turn the threshold off, but as Dave Holey Dollar said turn your sensitivity way down. Steve.

I don't think it will help to turn down the threshold.

In the disc mode turn sense all the way, or almost,

and swing your coil slowly and strait toward and

away from the object. I can get pretty close with

my V. The Compadre does better, with less power.

If that makes any sense.

In all metal mode, go slowly toward and away. The

machine will detune itself as you go toward the object.

Listen closely and there may be a little wiggle in the

audio if another conductive object is present.

I have given up on using disc for this chore because

that cuts out lower conductive targets.

It's like masking. You can use disc and get some

high conductive targets, or you can listen very closely

and discern the little noises that the V is making.

For me it is like attempting something that seems

impossible, but somehow it works.

Or maybe it's just really getting to know the machine.

But I am fortunate enough to have a Compadre. That

is usually what I usually assign to going around metal

objects and reinforced concrete.

Sometimes, less is more.

HH,

I rarely use AM mode on my machines in tot lots and parks.

My discrimination is usually set to where I'm digging some foil.

But my finds aren't the best, and NO chains so far this year...
