Tot Lot hunters/hunting

Most of us have hunted tot lots but Im curious if any of you make this your main focus, maybe not just tot lots but any area where there is playground equipment envolved. I have hit several, picking up the coins and few jewelry pieces. Anyway, if you do, what have you found to work best for you. I have been thinking about returning to this type of hunt, mainly for the jewelry lost. Im also thinking my M6 will suit me as well for this type hunting but have been thinking about one of the Tesoros. I would love to hear what works for you and what your strategy is for these areas. As of now, I mainly hunt old farm and home sites looking for older coins and that takes a day from work to perform. I can hit the local tot lots when I get of work early.
Thanks,
John

Don't forget the school play grounds, hit 2 schools in a poor district I guess reduced lunches are 0.75 because I found 21 quarters in to lot about 20x20. I use an ace 250 works great on coins and jewelry. It has paid for its self many times over in the last year.

I hunt those areas quite often and have done quite well with the 4X6 shooter on my MXT. Lets me get closer to the equipment than the competition. Also have used several Tesoros. They're lighter which makes them more pleasant to use, but either will pull up the goodies.

I've got 2-4 chip lots and school yards that I hit on weekends. Like BarberBill, I use my 61/2" small coil so as to get close to the equipment. After I work the woodchips, I switch to the larger coil and hunt out in the turf. Such spots are as good as any, save for perhaps soccer fields, for lost jewelry. HH jim tn

Get yourself a used X-terra 70 and the 6"DD coil. Because its a TID machine with 28 segments and a large LCD screen, its real easy to avoid junk and pull coins. I like the Tesoros, but a lot of the stuff that's lost in tot lots and playgrounds will register as good targets and if you want to make the most of your time you'll easily identify the coins with this machine.

M6 with the Whites 5.3 concentric pulls all the coins I care to dig,Im wanting to change my strategyand maybe equipment for jewelry. Most of the lots around here are sand filled, a few wood chips. I was thinking Tesoro because of the weight, and hunting for jewelry, you are pretty busy digging all the lower signals. Ive never strictly went after jewelry so I need to learn, lol. Educate me:thumbup:

A machine that is AWESOME in tot lots is the Tesoro Compadre. It's great on coins, and will hit hard on gold. Plus, ya can't go wrong on the price and the lifetime warranty!

Tot Lots are my primary hunting Grounds.11 elementry schools in the county and 4 diff parks.I like it because it's easy digging for me.I use the ace 250 with the stock coil.Hunt mainly in the jewelry mode.I can drop sensitivity to one bar and get within an inch or so of the playground equipment.that's how I've found 2 of my gold rings and a boat load of clad next to those metal poles. When you're that close to the poles you can't even think about using the pinpoint feature

Hey Jasper, tell me more about your Compadre. I use a Big Bud Pro 220D, an awesome detector with all the bells and whistles you could want. I also have Lobo ST. Why are you so hot for this cheap little detector. Gimmi a good reason to run right out and buy one.....
