Tot Lot from Hell

Sven

Well-known member
Went out for a couple hours this afternoon before it got too dark and too cold.

Found this school, three huge Tot Lots, had visions of coins dancing in my head................

Yeah, found a bunch of stuff besides coins...................

Guess the employees of the company that supplies the mulch chips were having a bad day.
They must have thought it would be funny to toss a basket full of popcans into the chipper as well as copper pipe.
It was all over, 5 pcs. of crap to one good target, many sounded like coins..grrrrrrr.

Found the bracelet next to a swingpole, made the weirdest sound, the Cibola picked up the pole and the bracelet
at the same time.

Just had a thought, someone mentioned that it's funny to find so many bullets in the Tot Lots. Bet you those bullets where
shot into trees years ago.

Hay Seven,

That reminds me of tha tot lot down tha road from my house.

It frustrated me for a long time.

I spent a couple of months last winter trying to clean all tha
shredded aluminum from that tot lot. I recovered thousands
upon thousands of pieces of aluminum. I also found some
nice stuff. It has been one of my best spots, as a mater of
fact.

It is now a nice producing tot lot that is easy to hunt. I was
not able to get all tha aluminum out. It keeps rising. But it
is no problem now.

The best part about tha whole experience was tha knowledge
I gained by tha experience.

Happy Huntin,

Tabdog

Looks good - sometimes when near a pole etc., I'll run the sens down, push the coil up to the pole or metal, then pull it back straight away - instead of swinging it back and forth - small coils of course.

Melted Beer cans at Campgrounds!
Make nice nuggets and sound off like coins. I guess the park people just rake the old
ash out of the fire pits.
And i had a tot lot with hot rocks one time, Could not use the Green brand detector in there
Had to use my tesoro LOL

Thats funny! It's what I've taken to calling them.
I find I can hardly use them at all lately, after using my Tesoros so much. I'm down to one Green Brand model in the collection - and it's yellow! It's come full circle really, as my first detector ever was a Tesoro.

The Greenies just aren't as smooth in operation as the Tesoro's IMHO. They are feature laden, certainly, something Tesoro really can't compete on. But they simply do not respond the way I prefer a detector to.

I got irritated with the yellow one the other day, in fact. It was supposed to pick through trash better than my Golden, with it's smaller elliptical coil. But instead, all the bonging and boinging' only drove me to distraction. I had to return to the truck to swap it out for the Golden which, if I'm to be honest, was easier to listen to.

I don't like to talk down other lines and the Green Machines have proven themselves to be top-notch...

But, for me, I'm feeling more and more like my detectors in the future should be brown, and made in Arizona.
