Tornado 800 coil..

New member
Well I have bought a NEW T800 coil from the USA - 49 USD + 25 postage to New Zealand.

I currently use a T1000 coil.

My reason for purchase : I find the sov elite + T1000 quite heavy - hopefully the 800 will be a little lighter.
ALSO I have heard that the tones are a little bit better defined on the 800 - any feedback on this?

anyway - i hope i havent wasted my savings... I will get a bit less ground cover and depth - but hopefulyl the "lighter" coil will let me search longer?

best of luck to all for 2007!

its a good coil , I find the tones to be excatally the same as the 10 in. tornado but the target seperation is far superior to the 10 . I dont think you will notice any different sounds with one over the other , but the difference in weight may be a factor that keeps you in the hunt for longer, and for 75 bucks I think you did real well , where I notice a major difference in tones is between the 10 inch tornado and a 8 inch coinsearch coils ...... the coil you bought is a damn fine coil and a mighty deep seeker .....I think you will notice subtle differences but it wont be way different ,but it will definately feel lighter and and the loss of coverage area wont be very dramatic..I think you made a good move and it difanetly not a waste of bread...let us know how you do with it .. goood luck

Thanks for that.
I have read that the intruder S8 from Sunray is sposed to be deeper than the tornado 8.
If I want more depth I will use the 10" coil - most times I just want to be able to hunt for longer without getting tired.
anyway - happy huntin for 2007..
been looking at all teh gold posts for 2006 - some hunters have whole trays full of gold goodies... now if I could just find one I will be happy..
