Topsy Turvy F75

Ok Everyone that owns one knows how this thing can tip over when you getting down there to dig......I'm sure there are some swiftminded people here that can help me with a way to stop this....I find it to be a nuisance......And also my headphones seem to want to pull off my head from the shortness of wire or lack of stretch....Need some advice on that too....Looking forward to your replies!....

Hi Cheryl,
They will fall right over. I normally kneel and lean the F75 slightly toward my leg. The headphones: make sure you have them plugged in on the side opposite your kneeling and digging style. This will give you the most cord for your stretch. The F75 will also do a decent job standing up if the coil bolt is tight. In bad mud, I have stood it up and let it lean on me. I tried a stand but the one I had was awkward. I have seen a couple of new ones and I really think a stand might be the answer. Let us know what you figure out.

I made one out of 1" pvc pipe and fittings and completely eliminated that problem. You will get used to it being there after just a little while and will thank yourself for making it. The thing costs next to nothing, weighs nothing and you can make it in about 30 minutes with a hacksaw and super glue. Mine snaps on the rod via a 'tee' cut lengthwise and placed between the handle and the battery box . If you can picture an upside down football goalpost you can imagine what it looks like.

As for the headphones you can try pulling the cord and stretch it out
but it might lose its ability to recoil . A trade off of sorts.

Ex-Sox post a pic of that stand, I'm making one for LTD, we can compare stands. As for the cord had the same problem so I got a 12" Guitar patch cord, gave me the extra cable I needed, now they don't pull off anymore. Also ordered the new Sun-Ray GOLD Pro headphones they come with a new 20" cord instead of the standard 13" spiral cord and a 90 r/angle plug.

Here are a few pictures of the stand that I made. I secured it with a couple of zipties for added security but it really dont need them.

Yep. 1" PVC. I used 2 tees, 2 90's and 2 caps with 2" length pieces in between them. A 3" piece of pipe coming down from the tee connected to machine. All painted with black plastic spray paint. It is very strong and does its job perfectly.

Ex-Sox post one more pic of the position on the wand. Outstanding Mod., they should have made a better stand for the LTD.

Here is another pic. This is not my design, I got it from this site a while back somewhere but it sure fits the bill.

I lay the detector on its side to start with so it can not fall over.

As to the headphones ... try a wireless head phone setup.
Radio Shack sells one and all you need is an adapter as it has the small plug on the transmitter.
I do not notice any audio delay using it.
