New to detecting(1 month) and I have read about the USGS Topo mapsfor finding older hot spots...my question is do you buy it at a bookstore or on-line?
Do you just purchase the areas you are hunting and how do you use it to research old hot spots?

Thanks

Well if you're in the East try www.historical.maptech.com

One yu have found a specific location/town you can go to the recorders office and look at the old Platt maps.
They ususally show you where old buildings once were and usuallu ID them, at least thats been my
experience here in Indiana.
