Took V out for first time

The snow is melting and temp got up in upper 30's so I took my new V out for the first time. The manual ground balance is new to me, but I'm sure it will become second nature the more I use. I hunted a lot that I've pounded with two other detectors. It's full of nails and iron so I usually dig everything about iron. Not a lot of can slaw. Anyhow, hit the buckle with my shovel, but the great seal button doesn't look bad. I think I'm going to like the V. Really like how light it is. Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas. Eric

Sounds like a start to a great relationship.

I know how I felt when I first used a Tesoro. They just work like they are supposed to. That alone sold me right off. None of the other brands I tried did that. But they also made redicules claims that none of the can achieve. I like the simple raw power and precise controls of a Tesoro. No bull just bite.

Best wishes,

After a little time, the ground balance comes into play easily. Just try and not ground balance over or right beside a metal target. Periodically as you go along, check the ground balance and fine tune adjust if necessary. On a manual ground balance machine, I ground balance and get going. Don't really think about it much, it comes automatically without much thought.
It's nice to be able ground balance a machine to conditions. And the Tesoro's weight won't wear you out in a couple hours, a nice feature indeed. They just work and work very well in my book. Looks like your off to a good start also - HH

Congrats on those nice finds Eric.
The V is a fine machine. I have had mine for about 2 months now and sold the Cibola.
There is a video at the Tesoro home page on how to ground balance if you are not sure.
Best luck --Merf

Don't think you can go wrong with the Vaquero.

Those Vaqueros are nice machines, hope you enjoy it. Do you have the small coil for it yet?? Maybe some of the guys on this forum can tell you how well that smaller coil works in the nastier sites. Good luck to you with your new machine.
Merry Christmas,
John

Very nice! The V is a fantastic machine and the more you use it the better you will get with it. It is amazing with a single tone machine that you can still have an idea what you are about to dig once you get some time on it. I hunt with guys with higher dollar machines and most times I have just as much if not more then them at the end of the day. To me bells and whistles are distractions that prevent digging and that means you leave nice stuff in the ground. Cherry picking is great also but this year I found a key date V nickle because some one cherry picked the old church because they did not want to dig pop tops. It worked out well for me. Big congrats on you new machine .Hope you like it as much as I like mine. I still want to get a tejon but I have to recop from Christmas and get some funds back up. Happy New Year and HH to all. :usaf::beers:
