This is the last of the hay coming in in these parts. Cooled right off here now. Little bit of skim ice on the water buckets in the am some days but still some decent weather left for fall. This is one of my road ride trips on the last of the bike days here. Couple of friendly jacks along the way.

Those stone walls always impress me! I just think of the work over the years and respect the heck outta those people!

And you still have a fair bit of green grass too.. Our fields are the best that they have ever been. We only kept the cows on them during the summer and early fall. As such, they managed to get a great head start on the horses and, snow and weather permitting, we will able to keep them on the fields for most of the winter [supplemented by hay... but not exclusively hay all winter].

Our weather has been remarkably warm. Last night was the first in a few weeks where the temperature dipped to below freezing. But today looks to be wonderful and warm

and calves from coyotes, dogs, and feral hogs. A feral hog will mess with a ranch dog, but will stay clear of a guard donkey. Kelley (Texas) :)
