I walked an old river road that has very steep hills leading down to it. Looking for a flat spot that could have been used for a cabin or house. About 500 yards in I found what i was looking for. Right off the bat I saw two old bottles so I knew the place was used. Started detecting and found a copper thimble right away. Metal was everywhere, so much that I was forced to turn the sensitivity down and the disc up. Lots of deep good sounding signals , but could not recover anything but square nails. There was rock used for a foundation everywhere "flat limestone" with lots of good sounding signals under it. I just couldnt recover anything with just a Lestch digger. I will have to return with a shovel. I estimate this place to be habitated in the mid 1800s.

That would be My Dream hunt as well Good Luck in your search !

Nice spot , keep at it and somthing good will come out

Part 2: Went back for an hour today. didnt have a lot of time so I cherry picked. I dont know what the square thing is but it is a gloved arm holding a sword. Coolest thing I found this year.

Awsome, keep picking at it as patience allows, looks like it will be rewarding.

Sounds like you need a backho ! I bet you will find some good things their. It will take a long time to hunt a spot like that. Hope at pays off. Good luck... KEN

Went back for an hour today. Found a couple of interesting items but nothing exciting. I may be done with this spot.

You hit pay dirt at that great site.

This may be a great site if you have patience. It has been my experience at sites like this, that garbage masks a lot of goodies. Remove the garbage and the good stuff starts to magically appear. Happy hunting.

woo baby/ you know thats not been gone over . high probability of somthing nice coming out of that spot
