Took the Sniper Max to a 1950's Boy Scouts camp

and was shocked with pulling the Buffalo as this place has been beaten to death with detectors. If you want the nightmare of all nightmares and want to test your detecting skills this is THE place. I had the 4.5" sniper coil and it was still overwhelming with all the iron junk. Also, If I received a dollar for every .22 shell casing I found today, I would take a nice vacation. :smoke: The small sniper sniped those shells like no ones business.
Then this little Woolly Bear Caterpillar comes walking towards me while I am cutting my plug. I have always seen brown or black but this is the first time I seen one colored White. As a child, my parents use to tell me that the color of the bug indicated what type of Winter we were in for. They use to tell me that all Brown indicated a mild Winter and all Black indicated a severe Winter.... I wonder what White indicates?

I just had to find out for myself what all white with a narrow dark band means on the Caterpillar - this indicates we are in for a very harsh winter with heavy snow  I hope this little guy is wrong

Dang....the MAX can also find caterpillars too. Quite the machine. The same scenario, where I hunted a spot again that has been pounded to death, and still managed to get some surprises. And...one of those spots also got me an Indian head nickel. I have also noted, that the MAX is very hot on nickles, which is good for gold ring searchers.

Nice finds. I had permission to detect a boy scout camp several years ago, but just couldn't get to it. One of these days, tho.
