Took the small coil out on the 30 for the first time today.

I've been trying to get out with it for most of the week, but been to busy.. As it was, I only managed to get out about three quarters of an hour before sun down today.
It sure is sweet to use. Having a much tighter detection field, sure makes pinpointing a breeze. It's not so small that you can't use it on open ground either. Using it certainly builds confidence in the X-Terra. after 90 Min's I'd recover $5.50 and a fair amount of junk items, which were easy to recover due to the tight pinpoint.
I took the X-Terra out last week end for a couple of hunts, first armed with the standard coil, but quickly replaced it with the 10in round DD coil. This is also an excellent coil to work with, allowing for good ground coverage, as well as a lot easier to pinpoint with.
I think that these 2 coils will now see the bulk of time on the 30 than the standard coil due to their user friendliness.

Good to hear it is working well for you. You've accomplished what many overlook...... having the right tool for the job! HH Randy

I agree Mick. When you reduce the sens all the way down you can get just as close to the tot lot metal like the Ace 250/sniper. But you can cover more ground in the field. The 6 inch is pretty sweet.

Thanks fellas.
Kenny. I haven't tried it around play equipment as yet, but will soon. I suspect that the small DD coil may be able to get in closer than the concentric coil, based on a couple of experiments that I did with the larger coils. The small coil is sure is going to get plenty of work for a while.
