Took the Sand Shark for a swim today...

I finally bit the bullet and decided it was time to submerge my Sand Shark today at a local swimming lake.
I know it is supposed to be water proof down to 200 feet and I was just wading with it, but it sure felt strange submerging it for the first time... I feel more relaxed now and I got out about chest deep with it and it did what it was designed to do.. stay dry and find the goodies.
I got my first silver with it also today... one lone earring marked .925 on the back.
The other two matching earrings are junk.
Also found some kind of foreign coin.. slightly smaller than a nickel.
It sure is different recovering a target in deep water...not as easy as it sounds even with a nice scoop, but with some practice, I got much better by the time I called it quits for the day.
Now if I can only figure out how to keep the sand from getting in the rods and making them hard to take apart to clean.
Thanks for looking,
Felix

The sharks are a brute , wading with it is not a problem at all, nice diggings! I couldn't see the foreign coin to good , a better pic could help ID it. HH tigerhank68

Felix,
Silver jewelry on your first hunt is a great result.

Kind of hard to keep the sand out, just keep pulling them apart after the hunt and rinsing well.

How was your trash to keeper ratio?
Cheers,

Congrats on the first dip, thats reminds me of my first imersion with my Infinium, had thoughts of her taking on water and fizzin out. Water detecting is way cooler.

WTG, That certainly looks like motivation for future water hunts. Artie

This was my first hunt with the machine submerged... just felt strange dunking that control box for the first time after using a Sovereign GT and being so careful not to get it wet.
I found about as much trash as good targets, but that happens when relic hunting or coin shooting too. At least the digging is much easier and with the temperatures soaring, water hunting is about all I could stand now.
It is amazing how the rods lock together from the sand in the water, but I will take your advice and clean it each time I go out.
Felix

Felix,
Half trash half good targets is a pretty good ratio of good stuff! Not sure what is different about the Tesoro rods. They seem to bind up more than the rods on the other water machines I have. Great detector though!
Have a great 4th!
