A 7:30AM cancellation put an end to work this morning....Was at the beach in 20 minutes, the tide was still going out, and the wind has been out of the east the past couple days making the water calm and clear...Making my way into the water and just getting started i see this wallet on the bottom...This things 2" thick and has no cash in it...the guy is from Montana,so i called one of the many credit card # and they relayed my # to him...When he called,he asked me where i found it,I thought you don't know...how do you not know you lost it in the water? It was snatched off the beach, money stolen, and tossed in the Gulf.He is still in town and will be picking it up soon.
The second eye find was the snorkel, and a small mask later on that I gave to some kids looking for sand dollars.I MD for 6 hours today..found enough tackle to fill a tackle box,...tourist rigs we call them..no local would fish with that much hardware, and no orange beads!!Got the usual hoops, with one earring being 925,a small round silver thing with CZ ???about $2.38 in clad(First wheat water detecting..no silver coin yet)..The small 10k..1.5g signet ring came up with a quarter at the end of the hunt...saw the quarter...not the ring... dumped the scoop and saw the gold ring tumble out and glimmer its way down to the bottom...Wonder if Ive done that before??? Nice hunt in clear water is helpfull when your in deep.
Good deed in returning that wallet.
Gold is nice at lease you recovered it.

Nice touch finding the wallet owner. If all the cards and ID are still there, you saved him an awful lot of hassle; probably saved him more than the stolen cash cost him.

Congrats on all counts, the finds and the pending return.
