Took the new used WOT out for a walk

Used the excal 800 first and waded in the water....and after 3 hours not much took the Wot out, thinking I would not last long without a swingy thing, It wasn't bad. Wot a diff. in coverage.....I love it.Sens. at 20-22 it did good. This just may be my main coil of choice at the beach. I found what seems to be intentional drops of coins, little pocket of scattered coins in newer looking condition. The sand is still too much. Why there is a 30/30 win. shell on beach I don't know. Can't wait for tourist season. A lot more dog walkers showing up today (SAT).(York Maine)

you said tourist season...mmmm...30-30 win casings???? funny....some times the dog walkers loose good stuff!! found what looked to be a fresh drop gold ladies bracelet a couple years back at a popular dog beach!! was nice out yesterday!! I also can't wait to get in to the lakes again!! good hunting!! that combo will get loot!!! I'm a White's:whites: guy..but have seen those in action!!

I hear ya about the lakes, that is my intentions this year, I have not tried fresh water enough yet.You seem to do well with the whites why change. Good luck!

do u hunt in salt water?
How deep WOT? No false signals in water? It looks very good...
i'm looking something deeper then stock coil..
Alex.

I never took it in the drink.....and I am sure it gets deeper than stock but just got it and have not had enough time yet to discover depth.

Yes it has a coil cover and its weight was not bad......I think my arm has a popeye lump from the 12" sunray coil from 3 days ago....they all get heavy after 4 or m0re hrs.But the adrenalin is like a anystedic(can't spell)after 50 pull tabs it wears off and then I feel the f-ing weight....Time to go home. But if a gold ring shows up then I am good for another 4 hrs......giddy up! There is no stopping a PIRATE from a BOOTY to be had! :beers:.......Oh, and btw, where is the PIRATE smiley emoticon on here.? Someone make one!!! Where is the GEEK squad?

Minelabs suck...Whites are better! They are too heavy and batteries don't last as long! They go way too deep for me to dig. I have to swing them slower than a white. They make me spend too much time reading right thru iron when there is a good silver under it. I hate waiting for the good ones....the whites will just make me pass right on by thoughs so I can spend more time swinging like a maniac! I want to look like a pro some day so I want a whites! NOT! Whites are for lazy butts! Just my opinion! You got to work for the worked out parks! Hoo Raa!:ninja: :minelab: Put the shrimp on the barbie mate!

You picture the same 2 coils I've been using with my older Sovereign. Mostly I use the WOT - ~tough to pinpoint with the deeper (over 8 inches) targets, but 'coverage' is great, especially in the winter when targets are fewer and you want to cover a lot of area.
Try detecting in all-metal sometime - you can switch back to Disc. when you find a target. Goes very deep, and you can swing faster in AM because signal processing is faster.

That sounds very scary to me just cause I have left it in pinpoint on accident more than one time and it got real silent for a while and went back over space to see what I missed in disc. no way! I prefer wide open disc........No way. smart find disc. will have a wide screen to it. pinpoint will have to be precise I am not looking for a pin in a needle stack.......that was a joke btw. The ora of the coils I use lets me miss by a few inches so I don't have to be right on top of it. Can you say halo! I hate pinpoint !

Your probably right BH, You put a lot of time in with it and do well. I was just kidding about whites...maybe someday I will buy a BHID it sounds pretty awsome...and whites are built to last longtime. I hope to see some great finds this summer from you....Keep on posting pics....:whites:

Maybe the Excal is different. The older Sovs had a toggle switch under the forefinger area. In 'neutral' the machine discriminated according to whatever settings you had. Moving the switch off neutral, it would bypass any discriminating circuitry and read in all-metal. The switch was installed also to use to pinpoint targets.
