Did not cover too much ground, was too busy messing with settings and such...I was amazed that I could crank the SENS up all the way and also the FREQuency and the machine remained stable...The GB was a breeze, and the threshold hum was sweet music to my ears...The IDs were dead on, and I was able to pass up all but the good looking zincolns (let someone else dig em)...lol...Here are my finds from a tot lot at a elementary school yard. The knife was on the surface (just needed some tightening and tweeking of the lock), the 2 bangles are kiddie jewelry (junk)...they weigh 1.2 and 1.7 grams...

HH,

Thanks for the letting us know your thoughts about the Quantum II, I will be getting mine late tomorrow afternoon and I am planning on taking it out for a try tomorrow night for awhile before dark. Its great that you were able to find jewelry with your Quantum, I have always enjoyed digging jewelry even if it is worthless. Glad you are enjoying your Q2. Steve.

Nice hunt Gopher. I'm with you on the Quantum series, I like them. I've had my QXT Pro for about 6 weeks now. And for me it's the perfect detector. Mike

Do you know what that function is for if you squeeze and hold the trigger, then hit ENTER (GroundTrac G.E.B. (Ground Equalization Balance))...It is supposed to be a hidden function, and I have not found any info on it...

Thanks,

You will get about 3 inches more depth out of the 950 coil than the 7.8. The 800 coil is a 7.8 in a newer body so no advantage there. I have swung a QXT for thousands of hours since about 1997, and have it out perform many machines and it's still great. I own two fisher CZ's and the Qxt can match their depth in most places with the 950. Now I have two of the 950 coils because my first QXT was stolen out of my truck with it's 950 coil locked in the toolbox, so it didn't get stolen, and my replacement QXT came with the 950. So it someone wants one let me know. New ones from Whites are 149 plus tax and shipping. Enjoy your great detector
