Took the M6 and 4X6 coil out for a test run

Just got the coil in a trade. There is a strip of grass by a chain link fence by the local swimming pool. I detected a strip about 3 ft wide and 50 ft long. The grass is a lot wider than that but I stayed by the fence. I have been over this same little strip several times and mostly just dug anything above zinc. I took the M6 and small coil to see if I had missed anything....Wow, it seemed like no one had ever detected there. There were so many good signals that I passed on all the zinc readings. I was able to pull some quarters that were right next to the fence that I was not able to get with other detectors and larger coils. Really opened up my eyes to masking. I know I didn't miss that many targets before.

Then I headed to another park by a shelter house that I had detected before too. I knew there would be tons of pull tabs and aluminum trash. I managed to find some more coins that were missed from before because of masking....I think I am going to like this coil.

It all depends on the coil you're using and the settings. I use the BigFoot coil when I want to get next to fencing and playground equipment. It's always nice to be able to get so close where no others have been. HH to all, Nancy

I love the 4X6 on the MXT. It, or similar smaller coils offer success in areas that can be nearly impossible to hunt otherwise. The small size forces us to slow down which in itself isn't a bad thing either. Trashy areas will deliver if they are hunted slowly and well, versus trying to cover a lot of territory. The light weight and easy poinpointing are nice, too.
