Took the leap. Makro Kruzer on its way.

Picked up a 14khz Makro Kruzer at a good price. This is one machine I have wanted to try. My second machine now is a Teknetics T2. What can I expect different with the makro. thanks

Waterproof, wireless headphones, rechargeable lithium ion batteries, loads of coils to choose from, adjustable iron volume, adjustable tone frequency, adjustable tone breaks, beach mode, able to save setting in each mode, etc, etc......Hope you enjoy using this great detector!!

Hi, firstly grats on the new detector. While I have the multi version, I often hunt in 14Khz.

The most noticeable difference will be the wireless headphones, it's awesome not being tethered to your machine. One thing about the waterproof Kruzer is the speed of target separation and the separation itself, it's amazing. I hunt a lot of trashy areas and countless times I have found rusty nails/pull tabs on top of or next to the target, yet had no problem isolating the good target without any masking effects.

I also get 3-4, 4+ hour hunts in before I charge it (with one or two bars left). In the trashy areas I use the pinpoint function more often and that tends to drain the battery a bit.

How loud the target sounds is indicative to depth. Also,if it overloads, good chance its a coin/ring or two on the surface (or a big o hunk o metal deep). I passed up on many of those signals before I learned that.....

The target ID is pretty good and coupled with the excellent tonal qualities, identification of things like bottle caps (74-76) are a breeze. If it reads 74 and doesn't zip/zing high, there's a good chance it's junk jewelry/pins/tokens or Canadian quarters (I think) and not a bottle cap.

You didn't say what type of hunting you do or whether it's US or Canadian coins you're after, but I think you'll like it.
