Took the GB Pro to the high desert this weekend, the good, the bad and the ugly

The good, I am really liking the GB Pro, with the 5" coil I am getting into the tight spots and finding lots of keepers that other have missed, I found a couple of 40's and 50's coins.
The bad, I went to an area that has produced nuggets in the past and I found a couple of bullets that had the ID of 42 and I found some old screw caps that read 58, but I am did notice the caps numbers will jump around if swept from different angles.
The ugly, metal detecting in the desert after 11:00 am is just plain ugly.

I have still not used the 11" DD coil, the 5" coil is getting targets in the 6" to 8" range and lowering the SENS does not seem to hurt it much.

Where do you consider the high desert ???
That term is very widely used and seemd to be any place from Lancaster ,ca to places in az.

Hi Jim,

I live east of Wickenburg, elev around 1100'. Prescott is not that much cooler in the middle of July, it can get into the 90's, the area between Prescott and Flagstaff is a nice area, lots of trails to explore and a lot of old mine camps. Right now the best I can do is explore and find spots for winter hunts.

I've been near Congress twice and found a few small nuggets with a sd2200d... but that was like March and April when cooler. good luck with your detecting and stay cool.
