My F 75 was delivered this afternoon.I put it together, headed out the door for a quick hunt.I live in a ghost town.No services and 7 families live here.I went to an old,1927, school that was burned down in the 90's.It has been detected by at least 7 different detectorists.I turned the sensitivity down to 60 and cranked up the discrimination to 21.There were too many junk targets in the head phones otherwise.Hunted a few minutes, got a good high tone, dug a 1954 silver quarter at 4 inches. My nieghbor and his brother came over and we hunted an old hotel site that burned down in the 40's.I got one good signal.I had him check it with his XLT,he said"Junk".I dug it.It was a real ornate gilt button in great shape. We went across the street to hunt and old board sidewalk site.He took off ahead of me.I was detecting a spot he had just covered, got a soft, hightone.Had him check it,he said maybe a penny, the signal was real iffy with his machine.I had a good "Dime" at 5 inches.I dug it. At about 5 inches I recovered a 1941 Mercury dime.It doesn't look like it has been circulated.I'm stoked!! This was my first "Merc"I've dug lots of Roosevelt silver dimes but never found a Merc. I thought this was a real great start with this detector. Now I'll have to read the manual, smile. Can't wait to go to some of the places I found researching last winter.

Kick, hold on because it gets better!

Hey Kickback,
Good firsts!!!

Mine were not that spectacular, but it is an easy, not so technical machine to use and understand. I now hit trashy areas to pick though the trash for the goodies and indulge what used to be a painful experience. Pretty good and understanding friend you have, does he share your amazement and enthusiasm for the F75?

Kick, nice firsts with your new baby. The more you use the F75, the more amazed you will become at what it will do. It has terrific depth, but where it really shines is in the trash. Looks like you have some nice places to hunt. Good luck and HH jim tn
