Took the Excal for a spin today...

New member
After work today I wanted to take advantage of the minus tide today but the tide didn't go out as much as I would have liked as a stiff NE wind was pounding the beachand keeping the water in...

I met up with PI-Joe and we both worked the wet sand... I forgot my camera so you aren't gonna see Joes finds...

I got the silver ring and the silver ankle bracelet along with the cookie coins and trash...

The beach we worked today is gonna be good as a huge sandbar was forming and if and when the weather calms down Joe and I will take our PI's out in the deep water.

I used my Excal with my new Babbs straight shaft I was amazed at the difference between the stock shaft and the Babbs its so much better

Big difference huh...........worth the money........right!

I have to admit it is better :) I can be a little stubborn... just ask my wife :)

Keep up the good work..

Still remember my first post...What water Machine?

You said PI., But I went with the Excal...(freshwater)
Should I have both ... ??
To see If I've missed something??

Skully I have used the PI in the freshwater but I don't know if you really want that extra depth you will get, I mean you might find a few more deep gold but you're also going to find alot more deep iron as it doesn't breakdown in freshwater like it does in the saltwater.. but you seem to dig everything now anyway so its up to you :)
My PI is a little deeper than the Excal now if you want a deeper PI go with what GulfHunter has or even the Detector Pro PI as its a little deeper than mine..

Sorry GH for spelling your name wrong lol..

Skully, in my opinion a PI would be a bad idea for the lake. Based on the nuts I've seen outa you, we will have to come and see you in ICU! Don't go there! You will hate it! Lakes are SOOOO trashy! Let me ask you a question...When you dig, is there clay stuck to the scoop tip? If so, then you're gittin' down to it and extending to the maximum required depth to retrieve most all targets. You're lead count is exceptional, so I would say you are reaching the targets of interest, based on the density of the nut.
