. Traveled 1.5 hours at 6:30 am to park #1. Looked real good and as we were working our way to the very hidden back of the park, a town employee told us the mayor wanted no digging in the park, so we had to bolt after hunting about 30 minutes. So we select another park from the garmin and end up 20 miles away to be questioned by the maintenance man who allowed us to hunt. After a business call and a few deeper clad digs, we moved on. Next park was fabulous. Huge rolling lawns, fountains etc. Decided to stay a bit covert and hit an obscure area where I dug an 1890 IH. We now know there is potential.

Then a passerby came over to tell me that there was a sizable fine for detecting there. So to the office we went where we received a "if anyone gives you any problem, tell them its ok with me". 20 minutes later and the big white truck pulls up next to me and we were told to leave.

Finally onto a park where we have never been hassled. I experimented with manual sensitivity and more gain. Yes, this is a challenge as every swing for a newbie is confusing. As the thunder clouds rolled in, I hit 4 wheats in one hole. Usually they are not completely caked in green, but this was a good thing.

Unfortunatley, that was about it, No silver for either of us and the rain forced us out of this park.

Nextime we may hit NYC, as there are permits issued to hunt there.

Congrats on the finds. Sorry to hear about the difficulties park hunting. More and more places are off limits now. I know the FMDAC does what it can, but I think we are seeing the end of an era unless there are some major reversals. As detector users are forced out of their local parks, they will drive to parks outside the area, causing more detecting activity in those areas (with the potential for more bans). And these parks are local or grass roots level, reversals are even harder to make.
