After days of rain on my week of vacation, it let up for a few hours today. It actually looked threatening which is GREAT for park hunting, it keeps everyone away. I powered up my GPS and my IPhone with Google Earth and headed out. I hit 2 parks that I never knew existed.... I found 20 quarters, 11 dimes, 6 nickels, and 18 pennies. Top that of with 2 men's silver rings and I call it a GREAT DAY! Not very ofter then the change will pay for the batteries. I had to institute a nothing below an ID of 32 .. LOL ... I got tired of digging! I can always go back for the rest of the pennies. Believe me, this place is nowhere near hunted out. Lots of pocket dumps too, that has to be the most quarters I ever found in one day.

Congratulations on the silver ..........I'd definitely be hitting those sites again

You did good . Two rings in one day is always good.

Congrats. on your success in the new park. Could I ask how you do your research on finding new places to hunt?
I am hunting an old park in my area but the good finds are becoming few and far between. Thanks for any ideas you can give

Nice.

I have not been out a lot since it has been hot and I am now working swing shift. I am miserable anything over about 85 deg F. Can not wait till it cools off a bit. Then I will get back to getting out for an hour or 2 before work.

Day 2 of random park hunting.... went to another one that I have never been to, but only had 2 hours to spend, 19 coins but no rings or silver. This place had an old-looking 1 room school house on the property. After looking closer I have decided that it was either moved there, or the foundation had been rebuilt. Lots of molten lead, lots of just under the soil gravel that made digging rough. I asked permission from the Township maintenance crew, he said "go ahead, knock your socks off" ... LOL. After today's finds, I think my socks are still in tact!

That is alot of digging! Great stuff tho!! Looks like the school is a bit off , kinda leaning to one side. Looks like a good place to hunt!

It's the IPhone picture that makes it look that way. Further research this evening proved that it has been moved to this location. Maybe in the fall I'll try and figure out where they moved it from. The original article was fairly specific.
