Took the Alien out to find Gold, that is I thought

Went back to my sled hill today only to find it has thawed a bit and there is water no under the snow and some of this is more ice I have the chip though. Here is the site I was at.

I got my usual new coins looking for the gold people may have lost, got may signals I couldn't get at being they were deeper than the snow and the ground froze. Some I didn't think they were as deep as the said to be, but once I got down the frozen ground the Uniprobe was weak or no signal at all, so they had to be over 10 inches deep as the snow and ice was 6-7 inches deep. Seen where a coin on edge don't read real good like some detectors as i got a decent signal and started chipping away at the snow and checked again and now I just barely got it and looked in the hole and down 6 inches a memorial penny I could see.
I was paying more attention to my nickle signal and did dig some pull tabs that read as nickles. Got a few small pieces of alum foil too, then I get a nickle reading that showed down 7 inches, so I dig out the snow and ice and find water under it and finally used my probe and seen it was still in the hole with the water and ice. I chipped away at the ground trying to get this target and while pulling the water and ice out with my pick I thought I seen gold. Now my heart almost stopped when I seen that and pulled more out and I seen it with the slush.

Looking at it I must have hit it with the pick trying to get it free of the hard ground. I was able to straighted it a bit as I have a ring sizer to straighten rings. I looked at the marking under a loop (my eyes are not what they used to be)and hoping it would say 14K, but it says 14KF instead. I am still happy with it as it is better than nothing.

Total for the day was 5 quarters, 7 dimes, 1 nickle and 16 Memorials plus a kids toy helicopter which it may be a Hot Wheels.

This sure is helping my cabin fever, now I will catch cold beng I got so wet.

One more thing is the tones went back to 1 again today twice and feel BuckeyeBrad is right as both times is when I set the detector down,or rather droped it from around 5 inches so it got a slight jar. I forgot to look if my disc went to 10 as I was using 25.

The ring has a lot of wear on it I am told and I had 2 different guys look at it and it is 14KF not 14KP, so it must stand for 14K filled and not plated.I know it has no corrosion or no spots of pitting like 14KP has. It read the same as a Nickle on the T-2.

First chance I get i will go back as I feel there is more jewelry and odd and ends lost there

The 14KF on the ring does mean 14 Karat Filled Rick. I asked Dale about it also and he said that is what it stand for, like I thought. Also, Dale got a little mad about you being able to go out and have finds like the ring and the toy helicopter for the find of the month. You are starting to get ahead of us and all I can say is "STEP AWAY FROM THE ALIEN!!!!!!!!" Talk with you later and good luck next outing.

Having been in the jewelry business off and on, I do know most times 14K GF is gold filled, but I have seen some 14KF meaning 14K Fine. Same as 14K P = Plumb. Best have it checked with a acid chemical test.

I will have to do that as there is a lot of wear on the outside, but still has the gold color and no pitts or any corrosion anywhere and it even looks like it was made bigger at one time as you see a seam. It read like a nickle does too. The picture was taken right after the ring come out of the ground,Gold looks so nice. so maybe I will have to look at it again and have it given the acid test to be sure.
Thanks for the info.
