came up with three cents shy of $3.00 for about a 2.5 hour hunt. Found nearly a dollar in change in one hole and had a helluva time isolating and pinpointing the coins as several of them were stacked on top of each other and laying at a 45 degree angle, with the rest of the coins scattered around the edge. I got all kinds of screwy readings and wound up digging an odd shaped hole about six inches deep to get them all. I hate to dig holes but had no other recourse on this one.

You start getting phantom signals where there are no coins. Really frustrating. Even lifting the coil doesn't always help in those cases. But, hey, you got out and made some good finds!
 
Yeah once in awhile when you get a batch of coins configured a certain way in the ground your tector goes nuts trying to figure out what is what and where.
