Took my son Jon out detecting today

Took Jon Metal Detecting today so he can get use to his new machine. I showed him how to run the machine and he was doing good. We kept getting a hit every so often that showed that there may be a penny near us. Every time we pinpointed where the hit was coming from we would dig and never find it in the hole. After we got home I took my shoes off and in the toe of one of my shoes was a penny. Made us laugh.......The machine was telling us there was one we just were looking in the wrong place. LOL

Had a similar thing one time - had my wedding ring on and as I passed over a handful of dirt I got a signal. Some time later I realized I had the ring on :) Steve in so la

That's funny. I accidentally wore my steel toes metal detecting once. Didn't do that again. Took me a few minutes to figure out was was wrong with my detector too.
