Found a 1853 three cent silver with the 8" coil. Pinpointer located it in the side of the hole 5 - 6" deep. This is a tiny coin compared to a dime. The signal was mixed but had enough high tones to make me dig. Been out with the C$ three times now, not hard to learn thanks to all the info on the forum.

Hey jabbo how would you compare it to the Edge so far? I know you only had it out three times,But are there any noticable differences yet? And lastly do you still have your edge,if not then why did you get rid of it?Thanks.

Harold, I still have the Edge. Today I did an air test on the silver 3 cent coin. The Edge gives a hair better signal at 7" both with 8" coils, Sens maxed out. Also tested a 9" IH penny, the Edge did a hair better in air, Sens 9. The detectors seem to be neck and neck according to my air tests. They claim the C$ is very deep, maybe I have an ultra deep Edge. This past April the Edge found a 1853 three cent silver in a small wooded area, plus 14 IH pennies, two Shield nickles, and a seated dime. Some say the Edge is about as deep as the C$, I dunno maybe so. I think I have two excellent detectors. The C$ has more features, the Edge is lighter, both are built sturdy. Jabbo

Wow, thats a very cool find indeed. Ive never found one but I do have one I purchased.Hope you find some more old ones!

Good going with the Cointrike. I bought one new a few years back and never got it to work. Thought it was just me so did not send it in for repair. At least you are having luck with yours!
