Took my MXT for a walk in a Union winter campsite!

I did some winter hut digging in Virginia last weekend. Didn't kill 'em on the relics, but I got a few things. The best thing was that everything I dug was a first for me.
We were digging winter huts. I managed to find some percussion caps and small ball on the floor of the hut, along with a knife handle and canteen stopper. The button is a one-piece civilian. The projectile point has been identified to me as a Halifax point - certainly the oldest relic found that weekend!

I also managed a handful of 3-ringers (all in a small group) and an 1853 half-dime.

This is a nice 12-sided medicine bottle.
All in all, not too bad for a newbie to hut digging. HH Sarge

Those bottles might bring you a lot. That's if they are for sale... <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin">
My father inlaw found an old bottle walking through the woods and got $400 for it. Now you know the person that bought it made a few $ as well.
You East Coast diggers find some awesome stuff.

This was my first time CW relic hunting and I'm hooked. Unfortunatel I live too far north to get into much of it. I don't know that my bottles are worth much, but I know several were dug during that weekend that would fetch a nice price.
