Took My Latest Gold Ring In For An Appraisal......:cheekkiss:

It's worth $1200, that's what makes it so Special. :detecting::clapping:

Awesome stuff John! With gold being so highly priced and the fact that I live close to old gold fields, I'm starting to wonder if I should join what most of the rest of the local club does, and hunt for the yellow stuff in it's natural state. It's a shame I haven't been infected with the gold bug.
Might need to follow your lead and hunt for jewellery instead. Keep it up!
Mick Evans.

been trying to find that kind of stuff myself, but getting all kinds of pulltabs going to keep trying and very nice find by the way!

John, does anyone up around your way own a metal detector? Cause, man your sure hit some honey holes! I just broke $520. thats with 1,534 Q's one piece of Gold & 5 silver rings for the yr. and I'm retired.

Nice find. That's what I'm looking for. $1200 bucks is a lot of money to me, I don't know about anyone else. This is just one of many rings found this year. WTG & HH, John. One ring like that would pay for an AT/PRO and that heavy-duty scoop, also. Maybe have enough left over to get an Ace-250 for my Mama. She's legally blind, but could still swing a light unit like the 250 and I could dig her targets for her. Get her out of the house when the temps cool down. Maybe let some landowner try metal detecting with it as a way to get approval for metal detecting on private property. I'm going to hit the shallow water at the local lake and around the boat ramp and see what comes up. Finding a nice gold ring is great, but going metal detecting and getting some fresh air and exercise and taking your mind off your worries is priceless.

There are several of us up here. I go out often, and 20 years worth of detecting has given me the opportunity to learn the better places for rings, how to get the finds out of the ground real fast, to experience some of the best coin & ring hunting detectors out there and also places not to hunt, as I had hunted them within the past 2 years.

Nice pay day for detecting!

Very nice, John!:thumbup:Thanks for sharing!
I remember that one that I found about a year and a half ago that's featured in Andy Sabisch's book appraised between twelve and fifteen hundred. I took it to three different places for comparison. Still got it, too. I wonder what it would appraise for at today's gold prices?
Hey, did you see Clive's bicycle chain appraisal over on the beach forum?
I think I woulda passed out cold if I found something like that!
Happy Hunting!:)
