Today I hunted in the Potomac river and found 1 clad quarter, 7 silver dimes, 2 war nickels, 3 pennies, 4 Buffalo nickels and 7 Jefferson nickels.......The weather was great and the water was calm. At one point during my hunt in the water I felt the ground moving while I was in waist deep water. At first I thought it was something wrong with me, after I finished hunting my brother called from Spotsylvania county and told me about the 5.9 quake in central Virginia. He said the gravel in the parking lot where he worked was rolling like waves on a river for about 30 seconds and things were falling off the shelves in the store.......

The picture of the coins are not great, they are heavily crusted from being in the salt water..................HH .............John in Va...

you have a thinner dime quarter or half. Even rings. Here is a picture of my last silver, I have broken most the crust off the coins and none on the rings. After the crust is gone you get BLACK silver!! Exciting. LOL not!! I love silver coming out of the ground better!! This was all found in 3 dives in one lake. Some lakes the coins are gray and not too crusty but they feel like sandpaper and thats how you know they are silver. This was all found in a lake in Michigan.

great finds bro , you are shaking out those coins

A nice cache of coins scubadetector.........The crusty coins, I just throw them on the concrete a couple of times and all the crust pops off...Some of the dimes are so thin they have holes in them..

John in Va............................

the crust is silver oxide and contains silver. I left it on all the stuff I sent to ARA yesterday. 23 OZ of silver. I want to see what they come up with in final silver. If the crust is partly silver oxide and part of the silver, its worth leaving on the coin, IMO. I don't know if you turn in your silver for cash or not. Will let you know and I hope you find more where you found that stuff!! NICE

I'll keep that in mind about the silver oxide........It's been a long time (20 plus years) since I've sold any silver or gold...If I were a little younger (61) I'd try the diving bit...........HH.....................John
