Took me 13 hours to capture a small tribe and their Fatty Chief

Hunted fields all weekend, friday..saturday..and sunday...I must have found the most UNproductive field sites in my whole county! There was virtually NO conductive signals. Absolutely some of the worst field sites I have ever hunted. Besides for a few shotgun shells and broken harmonica reeds, what you see in these pictures is ALL the conductive targets I found in 13 hours of hunting field sites where old homesteads once stood. All were on the 1886 map, a few of them were gone by 1914, so I had some pretty old sites. What shocks me most is NO buttons, normally field sites that don't give up coins at least have flat buttons. I don't think I have ever hunted fields all weekend and recovered no buttons.....lol. I have to laugh because I don't know what else to do.

So in 13 hours I managed 4 cents, so I made about a 1/3 penny an hour LMAO.

the indians are 1905, 1903, 1865, and the fatty is a 1863. Got a crotal bell, buckel, clock winder key, small musket ball, and the tiger eye looking thing, no idea what that is. Not sure what the grey/silver colored thing is either, any clues?

So laugh with me at my extremely small pile of conductive targets from an entire weekend of hunting!

WOW, thats like one of my hunts, LOL. You cant say it was from not trying, you will get some silver next time im sure and indians are nice finds anyway. Good luck.

I feel your pain. I once hunted an entire day in the woods and only found one Lincoln Memorial cent. My huntin buddy bagged 2 silver dimes that day.
LMAO too.....

Congrats on the sweet indians ! I would love to just get out right now, winter just does not want to leave central pa.

Well you did fine four nice Indians and got to spend 13 hours out hunting with your buddy that's worth quite a bit, besides right now I can't dig a hole without it filling right back up with water. So at the very least you got four Indians and had a nice time finding them congratulations to you.

Nice finds.

Every time I think I have an Indian it is a corroding zincoln! I have only found 1 Indian in my whole MD'ing career (7+ years).

I spent two days this weekend (about 10 hours) and found only clad!! Not even a wheaty! At least my rate was about 35 cents an hour!

I feel you pain!

what kind of areas are you hunting? I try to only hunt places that are 100 yrs old or older, GREATLY increases your odds of digging old coins

Congrats on the Indian Heads! I went out last Saturday found one wheat penny (1948D) about 25 smashed aluminum cans and a sunburn. Some days are just like that, but they make you appreciate the good hunts.

108-150 year old Injuns would be awesome to find! I know it does knock the wind out of your sails to put that much work & time into your hunts and they don't produce like you want. You will be due up for an outstanding hunt next time.
Great job on some nice finds!

Good hunt,at least you are out hunting I am still froze in.Pulled out my ice fishing gear again.Today 15 degrees, last year on this date 78 degrees.

Congratulations on the IH's Terry. No buttons...but still managed a Crotal! Thanks for the pictures.

Looks like a lot of hard work really paid off - congrats on all the great finds ! :clapping:

Misery loves company...and you have a lot of company here! I know how frustrating it can be to put that much time in the field and not get the production you want, and all the research time. At least you didn't have to dig a ton of clad and you did have some great finds in the end.
