I thought Sunday Jan1, with temps around 50 deg in Ct would be the "last hurrah" for a couple months. Temps were in the 40's again this weekend so I had to make time.
Friday I noticed a small section of sidewalk removal. Most of the section had new fill already put in so I put on the 6" DD and poked around. I managed to turn up a '43 merc and a wheat. Also was surprised to find a rifle ball.
Sunday I hit my old standby and dug anything deep (low or high tones). I was going over an area that I'd hit before because I'm continuing with a "2nd time around". This time around the finds were:
1 (fattie) IH 1860
1 IH 1883
1 two center 1865
2 Liberty nickels 1890, 1911
4 wheats 1910(2), 1913, 1920
1 Canadian cent 1943
Also found a small flat button and what seems to be some kind of lid to a container (maybe snuff?). It's flattened and a little bigger than a silver dollar. It was down at about 8" in between some roots.
Thanks for sharing. Bruce

Love the two cent pieces. I detected almost 30 years before I even knew they existed. Found one and have been lucky enough to get three or four more since then. Nice finds, hope this winter stays mild. You are right, we need to get out every day we can, it has to change for the worst soon.
