The V3 is my first White's detector and I was getting a little frustrated trying to learn it... (there's a lot to learn). So I loaned it to a friend to use while he sent his Vision and WHPs in to be updated to current specs. I needed the break and it did me good.
I am ready to go at it again. I am convinced that the V3 is one of the two best machines available, it can just be a little overwhelming at first, to me anyway.
The frustration is gone and the excitement is back!! I have a few new places to try it and I am ready!
So if you are frustrated with a new machine, try taking a break from it for a couple of weeks. Loan it or put it in the closet for a pre-determined ammount of time. Maybe i'm nuts... well, there is no question about that but taking a break changed my whole feeling about this machine. I was about ready to give up and sell it... not now.
I think I learned enough before, that now I will enjoy it more and with fresh eyes and ears I will learn more and get over the hump... so to speak.
I already have my own version of the Hi-Pro program. I mostly use it and the stock Coin and Jewelry (with the iron range expanded to -30) most of the time. I haven't used the Deep Silver" program much but I am going to be trying it more and try switching it to 22.5 for comparison with the 2.5 setting.
One thing that was bothering me before was that some programs seem to deliver different VDI numbers on a given target than other programs. I have not taken the time to try to understand this. Do you know why some programs give different VDI numbers than other programs on the same target?
I'm ready to have some fun again!!!
