Took 10X12 to Site Where I Found the Two Mini Balls

This morning I decided to take my 10 X12 concentric
coil and use it on this site with my Euro Sabre. I used
a 5.75 when I found the mini balls yesterday. I wanted
to see if I could get deeper. I had mixed and frustrating
results.

Here

I never dug one that deep! Yesterday I started off with a small coil and then went back over the same area with the stock coil. I need to say that most of the area wasn't too heavy with trash. Using the larger coil I picked up another half dozen quarters, a couple of dimes and two Wheats, one that was about 7 inches and barely sounded off so I know the small coil couldn't reach it in the bad ground I was hunting. The others that I recovered with the larger coil I probably missed by not overlapping my swings quite enough.
You deserve credit for chasing that tab all the way down that deep!
Pap

I think you deserve some kind of award for the deepest :pulltab: that I have heard of. :stretcher:

Ok Tabdog that is a very deep hole for a pull tab!! I am amazed that is rang in that clear! Good hunting, Beale.

tab you are so luckey to have a euro saber that thing kiks but 16" on a pull tab why dont they still make the euro saber , man better hang on to that one

14" or 16" I'm impressed that your detector/coil combo nailed it and that you stuck with it till you found it.
good on ya,
bb

Could be.

I know you're just kidding, but I'll have to admit that anything is possible.

But I was checking it with my electronic pin pointer all the a way down
after each time I got the dirt out of the hole. I don't think I could have
missed it that many times.

I can not escape the probability that it was taken out with my last dig.

That would have made 14" plus some.

As hard is it is to believe, that's my best estimation.

Happy Hunting,

Sure I am-but I couldn't resist it-because of what happened to me about 20 years ago. I had the AH Pro detector. Now, if you can remember anything about the machine, it was the BEST discriminator around-only thing was that you could strain the threshhold to max and if you were lucky you could detect a coin 5" in the air. Now when you put it to the ground with all those minerals, well, you can imagine. Anyhow, to finish my fish story(which is what my friends thought it was back then) I got a signal out in the middle of an old fair grounds. The signal was WIDE, and soft and I could lift the coil 4" off the ground and it would still be there. Aluminum can-had to be. I took my knife out and plunged it to the hilt and this further verified CAN. I dug a wide circle and plunged the knife all the way again and dug that hole out and with one more plunge at an inch or two I heard a "clack" sound. When I retrieved it the prettiest Silver dollar from the 1800's came out-with the ugliest knife gash in it. Now when I told my friends 14" AND I was picking it up at 18" they were grinning as they were saying Congrats. So to those who say that it's not possible.......

Nice pictures of your hunt!!!
I had a spot in my front yard that the Cibola was loudly saying dig. I got down a foot and nothing. Filled it in and let it go. Several months later, I got a CZ6A and it told me to dig in the same spot. I took both detectors over the spot again and both were saying about nickel and screaming dig. Got out the garden shovel and dug. At between 17 and 18 inches out comes a 3.5 inch diameter chrome plated gas cap from the 50's or 60's. It was sitting level with that big chrome half moon circle flat to the surface, shiny side up. The back side was half rusted away. Deepest thing I've dug. It was exciting even though it wasn't worth anything!
Happy digging Tabdog!

That gas cap you found real deep.

At this same site I found the same thing about 12" deep.

Look on the bottom of this photo just left of center.
