Too Hot To Stay Out:

Boy was it ever hot and humid, so we didn't stay out too long. We were going to go hit a schoolyard (I had the fever after seeing Treasure Mike's post) a few miles from home and found an older home to detect first. The total: Only dug 4 Wheats, $7.82 in clad, keys, 1989 champion (volleyball?) medallion from WCC (wherever that is) and a really neat token. I can't make out all that's on it, but what I can is.. Clothing on Credit-Honor Service-Menter on one side and Good As Gold with other writing on it on the other side along with a big $1oo. Sure wish I knew how to clean it up. I think it's an old one and would love to see where, what it is.

Thanks for looking and stay cool.

Nice haul. You did not mention the ring though. I went out today and about melted. It was about 100 in the shade, so I can relate. HH Dennis in Idaho

Nancy,
I think you did quite well indeed with all the goodies you have shown. Shoot, if the weather wasn't so hot, you would have really gotten into the silver and possibly gold, I'll bet. That site is sure to hold some more treasures to be found when the weather isn't so hot and the ground isn't so hard. Just look upon today as the dress rehearsal for the big event! Thanks for sharing!

I totally forgot about the silver ring. I was too intrigued about the old token. I'm still trying to see what all it says. I've never come across one like this before. It's the size of a half dollar but thinner.

Try to stay cool. We're to get some rain.......possibly tomorrow.

considering you had to stoop down and get back up at least 40 times in the heat you did well , now is when water detecting would be the thing to do regroupe and try again
