Tones

99. I had two tone detector for five years and love the way the 505 sings.

I like 99/28. It's not too hard to program your brain to key on proper sounding target responses. All it takes is practice.

99

When I first went to 99, for some reason it was really confusing to me. I would turn it on for 5 minutes and then go back to 4. I must have done that 10 times and then one day I said I'm going to stick it out and get used to it. That was about 3 years ago. I really think it helps tell the story of what you are swiping over much better than in the 4 setting.

I use to use four then I got into relic hunting and started using two. I went coin hunting the other day and found myself still using two tones. I did not rely on the meter near as much.

I'm a 99 tone guy as well. I found it tells me 'more' about the target that has been detected. I have also found it good it the trashy areas that are full of pull tops and shredded aluminium can
