When using the explorer II I hear multiple 3 note tone when passing over a target. Sensitivity is set at 24 and this is an old park. Should this type of signal just be disregarded?

Rich, those glissando type tones are not usually junk.
If it is nulling out from another direction there is more of a chance it is iron but don't always expect a solid one note tone on good targets.

Hey Rich,
Coins tend to have multiple tone warbling with three or four notes. But if the coin is really shallow, its tone will be a single note.
A good experiment is to place a silver dime or a copper penny on clean ground and sweep over each one at different heights. You can hear the difference between a shallow and deep coin.
The sounds I am talking about come from Conduct Sounds, Gain 7, Limits 10, Variability 8, iron mask -10,11,12,13,14,15,16.
Rusty iron targets will produce a similar warbling, multi note signal. But if you listen to nulling effects and size of signal area of influence, you can guess if it is a rusty iron object or not.
