Tone with no target ID, dig or not to dig

Hello,

I am real new to the sport but hooked badly already. I have the new AT Pro and really like what it can do. I have found about six dollars in change so far and I have only been out about six times for about 10 hours total.

My question is, today I was out hunting and kept noticing I would get a tone but no numerical ID on the AT screen. I was confused but moved on, this happened several times but I wasn't sure of the cause. I then came home and was reading up on the unit and found that while hunting in pro mode this is common, the machine can find deep targets without giving a numerical ID to it.

Do you guys did these items or usually move on to a target that gives a solid ID?

Dennis

Dig it, it may be a deep target.

If it's a soft signal, and I have gotten my search-coil over it in multiple directions, and it still has my curiousity, I would dig it.

If I don't, I will lay awake all night wondering what it might have been.

You need to be getting, as John said, a soft signal in the pinpoint mode. If not, then its pretty much a false signal. You can dig a few of these tone/non ID signals to verify if what we are saying is correct. I recommennd you do. For the learning experience.

DIG BABY DIG!!! Most of the times it is a deep target...Could be a can, could be a Seated dime...You never know!

HH,

Yup, ya gotta try! That deep, who knows.....
