Since receiving my F-75 I've been constantly trying to find an edge or clue to help me recover more good stuff. I'm after coins (mostly old) and jewelery. Might get to some relic hunting later.
I'm thinking that of all the adjustments available on the F-75, Tones are the most important. In my case, what I hear determines what I dig. I also believe that only one (1) of the tone selections will probably help me recover more good stuff than any of the other tones options. I also believe that this tone thing will probably be different for each of us. Some of the younger people will probably do well with 3, 3H, 4 and 4H. After watching the Dankowski DVD I thought it might be best for me also. Now I'm beginning to believe they are just busy and busier to my old ears. I suspect I've passing over some good targets because my attention gets desensitized from all the clatter. ( Rabbit staring into the lights of an oncoming car type thing)
The DP tones are interesting, especially when there's a lot of bottle caps. Still a little too busy for me.
My finds seem to increase when I use 2F, especially jewelery. Occasionally when I get a good tone in 2F, I switch to 4H for a comparison. I've noticed that the 4H tone presentation is sometimes inconclusive (erratic) and not the type of signal I would normally dig but the 2H tone is solid. Tones 1 and 1F are still something I need to look into.
