Tone question for upper end Garrett's

Mick in Dubbo

New member
I was looking to trade my Explorer in a few weeks back on an upper end Garrett's, but it was refused. As a result, I decided to take it out a bit more to see for one last time, whether I could figure this machine out, and discovered that it's secret lies in listening primarily to it's tones, and mostly ignore the screen. I have heard the sound of a GTA 1250 in a shop and noticed that it's sounds seem to be more subtle than the Ace. Although, to some degree, even though the Ace sounds like a blunt instrument (audio wise) you can get some feel as to what a target is (very limited though) how do the upper end Garrett's go at giving you a feel for whether a target is good or not as far as tones alone go? For instance, does a round target give off a distinct tone compared to other targets or is the audio system just give off a pre determined same tone on everything?
Mick Evans.
