Sure. As I said the screen would show bottle cap, then pulltab/ring, then bottlecap. I went over the spot several times with my coil and the two icons were giving me several tones. but thru all the tones one tone stayed consistant the whole time.I have had my XLT only seven months but two things I learned to pay attention to are the bar graph and the tones. Each time I heard this particular tone the graph would top out on the scale. It is this tone that caught my attention and together with the graph reading I knew there was something worth investigating. With the XLT you can just walk along, not even looking at the screen. Just learn to listen to the tones. Eventually, you will learn that certain tones are talking to you, Today my TH partner and I were detecting at a local park, and I heard a high pithed familiar tone. The screen showed penny/dime and the graph was to the top. But the pitch of the tone told me "silver". The depth showed 5" where I pulled out a 1945 mercury dime that was standing on edge. You may not always find something good when you dig, but by listening to the tones and trying to learn which ones of them are more consistant than others you can increase the odds of separating good finds from junk a lot of the time. Don't get me wrong, I still dig my share of junk, but I am beginning to increase my number of good finds. Happy Hunting
