The problem is : he answers neither to e-mails nor to PMs.

I think that kit and the know-how to do it is long gone. A few months ago a user here snagged a complete kit on flea bay. Thats the only person I have heard of that currently has the hardware. And he is not selling it. Plus the kit appeared to be custom made and could not be reverse engineered. I know because I had him look it over to see if it was possible. I think it used a custom programmed IC chip.

Once a product is out of production,it would be nice to be able to just send this kind of thing back to the manufacturer and have them do it!
 
I use my xlpro with tone id regularly and love it so much that I'm tempted to part with my un-modded xlpro.White's reasoning is that there are so many other models available with tone id(all digital)that a mod on a discontinued model is'nt needed,but somehow the newer models just are'nt the same.I just love hearing the tone and glancing at the analog meter before I decide to dig(or not).DBULL
