I'm going to be putting this thing together if anyone would like to join me. Sometimes these things work and sometimes they don't. The classics are pretty forgiving when it comes to tinkering.

If this ends up working good I might just have to have one. The tone ID would have to operate at depth though. I'm a huge fan of the Classic series. After using my Mr. Bill's modified IDX Pro at the beach recently with better than expected results I've been thinking of picking up a modified Classic III just for beach hunting and this tone ID feature might enable me to use the expanded discrimination and all metal motion mode with the black sand feature. I hope someone follows thru with testing this option.

Maybe Monte or Mr. Bill-can verify this -------but I think, I read where the Classic III had the same board as the IDX. So this mod should work on the IDX also.
