Tone change on Golden u Max

Has anybody had this done and if so how do you like it?

I never had the older model, but the nickel / gold tone on my new unit really rings out!

I did not like the new tones at all myself. To me, everything was out of the natural order.

I find the tones much better than the original and not only that I think the golden has the best actual true to target tone ratio than any other detector with tone ID

when i had my older GU i tried a bigger coil and it didn't work out at all changed some things around but could be different on the newr one?

Mel,
Here is one of Mike Hillis' posts on the new tone arrangement. If you search on his posts on the Golden new tone, you will find more.

I have a golden on the way... I guess I just assumed that any they are selling now would be the new tone model, but after" mike p" saying they are hard to come by, well, I guess I will find out next week what I get
