Hello forum friends,
Some of you here know the T-2 is my top gun detector, It is by far the best all-around relic machine I have ever used.
Tomorrow, Will be taking the long drive over the mountains to meet up with a very good friend "El" and then head out to hunt a couple of old sites and in between the sites we'll share what each has learned from researching from home, Several of these sites are still virgin.
We first meet about five years ago and together we located an old 1858 stage stop, That is when our relationship started and now we are trusted partners and good friends.
I think back then how crude our researching was, Trail and error and the many wasted hours to locate an old site. Now, Most if not all of our finding an old site is from home. We have combined our resources and now locating these older sites are so much easier, All from the pleasure of our homes and using our computers we send the information to one another by email.
I'm enclosing a picture of my T-2 and gear, packed and really for tomorrows adventure.
(1) Box of research material.
(2) GPS
(3) Mid 1850's map
(4) Hiking boots
(5) T-2
(6) Digging pouch and shovel in pickup
If I can share one tip, Metal detecting is fun but if you can get involved with the history of your area. This will open up new leads and new adventures and older finds.
In the future, I'll share with you how to be successful at finding these older sites and getting permission to search them.
Thanks for looking,
Old Cal.
