My Explorer XS (now have an SE) and CZ3d sold after being on consignment with my local dealer and he now has my Excaliber ready. I can pick it up tomorrow. I'm pretty sure it is the 10" coil variety.

I'll drop by and get my new TVA permit tomorrow also in order to be ready for the warm weather.

Thanks to the feedback I have received here on this forum I feel like I know which scoop and shaft to buy. I'm not sure whether I need a pouch for finds, but I plan to buy an otter box for my keys, wallet, etc.

Now my problem will be waiting until the water warms up before I can use it and for people to lose things. Then you will probably be hearing some more of my newbie questions.:punch:

Congrats alton on the new Excal. I have the 1000 and like it very much. The water hunting forum will be very helpful in yer taking it to the next level. I post my finds there. You will need a mesh pouch for finds and you can get one like I use from Chuck @ Treasure Hut. Fits right onto your web belt and has a nice velcro closure at the top. If you have not ordered your new copy of cjc's Excal book, get a copy ordered. It will accelerate your learning curve, with the Excal. Many mistakes, which I made this last season with the unit can be avoided by you, if you read his book. I'm even mentioned on page 17! I'm the guy who went 25 straight hunts without finding gold! Thanks again Clive! It's a great read and definitely worth the price of admission. Good luck to you and there are an army of us to help you if need it.
